About oak (nara)
"King of the Forest"【Orc (Nara)】
**Oak (Nara)** - Fagaceae - Deciduous Tree Due to its high water resistance and durability, and the absence of concerns about corrosion or deterioration, oak is a globally popular species used for whiskey and wine barrels. Additionally, its beautiful grain makes it widely used in building materials and furniture, such as flooring, walls, and tables. Having been cherished worldwide for a long time, it is referred to as the "King of Forest" in Europe. Oak is characterized by its distinctive tiger stripe pattern that appears in the quarter sawn grain. The tiger stripe refers to a pattern resembling a tiger's stripes that appears on the surface of the wood. This pattern indicates areas where the wood has stored nutrients during its growth, making it a mark of natural wood. It is also called "silver grain" because it can appear silver depending on the angle of light. At Wilby, we offer a three-layer flooring called 'ALPEAT' made from natural oak. It features a 3mm veneer on the surface and is designed to eliminate warping and expansion, making it suitable for floor heating. Please check the link below for examples of flooring applications.
